FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS: CFDT

What is the process for Cognitive Function Development Therapy?

  1. Prospect clients need to complete the CFDT intake form.
  2. Once the client is deemed fit to do the CFDT, the client will be scheduled either for a psychiatric evaluation with the provider, or to do cognitive assessment and CFDT assessment profiling.
  3. A treatment plan will also be completed, which includes client’s engagement, client’s goals, CFDT session scheduling and preference.
  4. Re-evaluation will be conducted at the last CFDT session and results will be discussed.


Do I need a referral?

No. But we highly recommend getting a referral from a provider (MD, DO, NP, PA) or to be scheduled for an appointment with our provider.


Who is an ideal client for CFDT?

  1. Clients who can attend regular therapy session
  2. Medically stable
  3. 6 years old and above
  4. Verbal communication
  5. Clients who are willing and committed to change


What are the goals of CFDT?

The primary goal of CFDT is to improve cognitive function in areas such as attention, memory, and problem-solving. Additionally, CFDT aims to enhance functional independence and quality of life for individuals with cognitive function weaknesses and nervous system dysregulation.


What are the current rates?

The fee is $125 per session.

We offer discounted rates for full payment.

How often will I see you?

There will be a total of 24 to 32  sessions. The CFDT session is 1 hour twice a week. CFDT is intensive and fun to produce long lasting neurocognitive changes.


Where are you located?

The CFDT is mostly done virtually with some exceptions. For 6-12 years old clients, an in person visit is highly recommended.


What insurances do you accept?

Insurance may cover CFDT, depending on the individual’s plan and diagnosis.


Is CFDT a substitute for medical treatment?

No, CFDT is not a substitute for medical treatment. It is a complementary therapy used in conjunction with medical treatment to improve cognitive function and quality of life. CFDT also increases the efficacy of other psychotherapies, improves impulse control and reduces risk of relapses.
